“Lilac Joke are a conundrum. At one moment they are balladeers writing melodious acoustic contemplations, and the next they are producing party-banging-dancefloor-fillers. Most people enjoy both. Labelmates with the infamous Ctrl. and chrisnjack they are highly influenced by life, approaching it from a party perspective.

Lilac Joke are Oliver Baxter, 3rd Year English Literature and Theatre Studies at University of Warwick, and Jack Argles, 3rd Year English Language and Linguistics at University of Reading. The guys have been playing together since the summer of 2004, when Jack joined the band Icarus Wings. Since Icarus Wings disbanded due to increasing outer-band commitments, Lilac Joke were formed.”
