JOHN ELY, Warwick

“I have nurtured a particular strong attachment to photography depicting scenes of decadence, discontent, and abandonment, however I have a very broad-minded and experimental attitude to my own creations. As a result, the plenitude of seedy, backstreet scenes in my work are offset by my frequent forays into ‘light graffiti’ – creating an image in a long exposure by manually introducing lightsources…”

“I’m a 2nd Year Film & Literature student and I recently started reviewing the odd film or two for fun. Now I seem to want to get my opinion down all the time. I like to think I’m open to all the new flicks but if its not worth the price of the ticket, I’ll be sure to tell you.”

LEAD RESONANCE, Warwick

“A long time ago, in a place far, far away lived four men who invented a new type of music – Rock. Defined as a genre of popular music with a prominent vocal melody, accompanied by electric guitar, bass and drums, these four men travelled the world spreading the word of rock. However, after excessive touring these four men sadly perished. Four youngsters opted to rip off this genre; and they formed the band known as Lead Resonance!”

MOHAN BALLARD, Southampton Solent

“I mainly focus on editorial illustration but I also like to produce large pieces of work with lots of imagery and events happening on one page, for example street scenes and city scenes. My work is always very colourful and bright and I feel this is a reflection of me as a person!…”

BILLY MATHER, Brighton

“I have a very quick but considered approach to illustration. My work is often developed from spontaneous ‘off the cuff’ drawings which keeps the work fresh and makes it exciting to look at. My favorite area to work within is Editorial Illustration, I am also interested in live art work in combination with Music.”

“I got into writing when I was very young, because I found it the best medium by which to express myself. I was always a very imaginative kid, who loved to talk and tell stories, so this is something which is just part of me. And I absolutely love writing. I write mostly when I am in the ‘creative’ mood. I don’t have any particular topic. I like to try different forms and topics.”

ED LAWRENSON, Winchester

“I have been recently looking into the spheres of Scientific research and Science-Fiction and digesting the web of information via drawing, installation and photography. This series of photographs are a development of work I was doing where I was trying to fabricate domestic UFOs. I am currently exploring where scientific anomaly ends, science-fiction and conspiracy begin in relation to the artifice of image making.”

JAMES VARLEY, Warwick

“I’m a third year film student trying to survive in a harsh and unforgiving universe. What I lack in talent I make up for with sheer pretentiousness. If you don’t like my film it just means you don’t understand art and probably shouldn’t be allowed to look at it by law. My work is mature and thought-provoking and powerful. I am more intelligent than you and more sexually virile.”

DAVID SUGARMAN, Warwick

“I am not a tall person, but I seem shorter than I am because I tend to slouch. A chav once told me I was the prettiest girl he had seen that day, but he was probably just being nice. I worry about things and daydream excessively.”

FLY BY NIGHT, Warwick

“Fly By Night officially formed in October 2009.

We play a mixture of catchy pop punk and straight up rock. Our influences include You Me At Six, Blink 182, Go Radio, Mayday Parade, Brand New, Foo Fighters, and Wolf Am I. Whilst our music may not be the most technical, we enjoy what we play and have a great time playing as many shows as we can.”

TARNIA GRACIE, Winchester

“I never really know what to call the type of art i create. It is compulsive like outsider art but can never be classed as this as i am studying art and have a greater awareness. So i like to think of myself as an inside out artist. Everything inside comes out and it still would even if i were a plumber…”

THE BLACK DOGS, Warwick

“So… What do you get when you cross an angel-faced singer with an Indian, two guys with varying amounts of afro, and a bass-playing corporate sell-out?

Turns out, not much… except for some seriously fun rock n’ roll! It sounds like what’d happen if Neil Young and Lynyrd Skynyrd really were friends, and liked to jam on Zeppelin tunes, while living as hobos getting hung for murder, yet finding the time to drive fast cars…”
