What we do for students:

1. B-SIDE EMPIRE can showcase your art on our website. By becoming a contributor to the website, we promote you as an artist and your work. You can use the website as a portfolio and/or a go-to when meeting others (including key industry contacts). This is a free service.
2. If your art is on our website already and you are a contributor, then we can advertise any upcoming events that you are in and projects that you participate in. This service is also free.
3. We run events. So if you want a screening, poetry slam, exhibition, gig or whatever else it is… then get in touch with us for more information. *
4. We not only run events, but we also help publicize them both online and in print. *
5. We help mass-produce art, whether you want prints, DVDs, CDs. *
6. We can sell your art, prints, merch etc. in the B-Sid Empire Online Shop. *
7. You can join the B-SIDE EMPIRE AGENCY. See below for more details.

1. Join the B-SIDE EMPIRE Street Team! If you’re looking to get some experience in marketing, publicity, PR, then this is for you.

2. Join the B-SIDE EMPIRE Wrting Team! The perfect role for avid writers and journalists to practice conducting interviews, writing press releases for events, reviewing and writing articles on artists, art work, and events at their university…and anything else art related that they can think of.

3. Become a B-SIDE EMPIRE Student Ambassador. These student reps are responsible for managing the events, marketing, and artists at their university and for publicizing the B-SIDE EMPIRE name.

The above three ways of getting involved with B-SIDE EMPIRE are all unpaid and voluntary. Our aim is to provide students with internship-like experience to build up their CVs/creative portfolios before they embark upon a career, and also saving time by offering work experience whilst at university, than having to work over vacations! B-SIDE EMPIRE AGENCY:

A big step up from promotion, events, and online showcasing…One of the new features we’re currently setting the groundwork for is the B-SIDE EMPIRE AGENCY – for the site to work as a database for industry creatives to find students to hire for paid creative projects and collaborations. Through our connections with the creative industry, we aim to get students the opportunity to put their artistic skills to use, whether giving film students the chance to make advertisements for big companies to musicians wanting music videos, or providing illustrators with the opportunities to design book covers and clothing. We’ll help you to build your portfolio to a more professional level and get paid while you’re at it! This works through commissions.

At the moment, we’re looking to see how many people would be interested in the Agency before we jump into launching. Whether you’re a student looking for some paid work or an industry rep looking for a talented upcoming artist (or have already found one on the website) to design your new campaign, then drop us an email for more information info@turntothebside.com You’ll get a little stamp on your page to notify people that you’re available for paid work.

*The Fine Print on Fees:

The services that are asterisked above have a fee. However, this fee is only subject to what type of service you require or what marketing package you require. We can order, print and distribute your marketing material for you, but we can’t pay for it. Events work in a similar way. If you require us to reproduce, market, or anything else which requires a payment, then we ask that you cover the costs. We usually run our events with a door-charge, which we split with the artist(s). We do acknowledge your student status (as we are students ourselves) and thus, these fees are not hefty. At all.
